Murdoch Day was established in 1975 as an event where Mt. Carmel hosts residents from the Murdoch Center for an afternoon of food, fun, and fellowship.  The highlight of the day is the famous “circle-time” where each of the residents is given a microphone and the spotlight to showcase their own talents.  At the end of the day each of the residents receives a gift bag to take home.   The day also often includes a free special event such as: NASCAR, mechanical bull rides, magicians, and an Elvis illusionist.
