Cooperative Baptist Fellowship (CBF) – is composed of Christians who affirm the Baptist Principles of freedom and autonomy in biblical interpretation and congregational governance, gender equality in all aspects of congregational leadership/ministry, and religious liberty for all people.  CBF believes that all people are called to be the presence of Christ in the world.  The CBF provides us with ways to be on mission in North Carolina, the nation, as well as globally.  Through CBF we support colleges, children’s homes, youth ministries, and theological education.

Kids2Carolina™ hopes to enrich the lives of underprivileged youth by providing an experience that focuses on quality academics, outstanding character, and the excitement of a college game day.

Inter Faith Council – A caring organization that assists and supports people in need through staff-volunteer partnerships, congregations, individuals and community coalitions.

John 3:16  – A Local Mission caring for local people.  Help us provide basic needs.

The Shepherd’s Table
  – Every Christmas Eve from 11am-2pm we provide a Christmas meal for the community.  Join us for a free meal and holiday fellowship.

The Pillow Case Dress Mission
 – Little Dresses for Africa is a non-profit 501c3, Christian  organization, which provides relief to the children of  Africa. Simple dresses are made out of pillow cases, and distributed through the orphanages, churches and schools in  Africa to plant in the hearts of little girls that they are worthy!

The Women’s Missionary Union (WMU) – sponsors two circles for women, Women on Missions Morning Group and Nancy William Hundley Circle, who participate in many projects that care for those in need.  The Baptist Young Women meet in November each year to prepare and mail care packages to all the Mount Carmel college students.

Baptist Men – lead the Mission and Maintenance Days (M&M) for the involvement of both men and women in projects which care for others in the community as well as maintain Mount Carmel’s facilities.

Dart-Ball – men 16 – 116 meet weekly to fellowship and compete with other churches in the area.  Others come to cheer on the team and enjoy the excitement.

Murdoch Day – Mount Carmel hosts the group from Murdoch Center each year for food, fun, and fellowship.

Quilt Team – Does a variety of quilt projects, but most endearing is the prayer quilts.  After the quilt team makes the lap size quilt, we each tie a knot and say a prayer for someone going through difficult times or illness.  The quilt full of prayers is then delivered to that individual for their comfort.

USHERS — Our list of usher/greeters is made up of volunteers willing to help in each of our services. Typically, a group of four will be present to welcome and greet people as they arrive, collect offerings, present worshipers with an order of service, help guests find their seats, classrooms, and restrooms, as well as provide hearing devices if requested. We also assist at funerals and other church functions, upon request. Plans are in progress to create/combine lists of helpers for the early service.

NURSERY — The nursery is a wonderful place to jump in if you enjoy snuggling and running around with little ones. We serve ages birth to three, playing singing, and coordinating activities that foster God’s love. Volunteer to work one hour, two hours, or three hours on Sundays or special events.

Mt. Carmel Youth Team — If you love young people and all the energy and new perspectives they bring to our church family, then you need to be a part of this team. We try to get together at least once a month throughout the year (usually on aWednesday night over dinner) to discuss youth prayer needs as well as make planning decisions. We help coordinate fund raisers, mission projects, retreats, teachers, and studies that will have a lasting impact on the next generation of Christians.  All are welcome!
